Advanced Placement (AP) Courses
Take AP Courses for College Credit ONLINE!
Why take an AP course?
- You can earn college credit at universities across the nation if you pass the end-of-course AP exam with a score of 3 or higher. Even if you only score a 1 or 2, you are more likely to score higher on your next AP exam, and more likely to attend college and graduate on-time.
- Taking an AP class prepares you for the rigor of college-level work and helps you develop personal and academic skills that will benefit you through high school and beyond. It will help make your transition from high school to college easier.
- It looks good on your transcript! AP courses on your transcript show colleges that you are persistent, resilient, and willing to work hard academically.
- You can save time and money. With the credits you earn from AP classes, you may be able to skip some introductory courses in college. This can free up time in your schedule and may help you graduate earlier (and also pay less tuition).
See the College Board's website for information about transferring your AP credit and to find AP credit policies by college.
